Funken - the German word for spark - is the 6th flavor variant offered under this label.
This edition elegantly combines the German tradition of "Rauchbier" (smoked beer) and the balanced flavors that make our brewing culture famous in Belgium.
During the brewing process, part of the malt is replaced by a "peated malt". This gives an amber beer, with a pronounced and spicy hop flavor, to which is added a fruity sweetness and a subtle smoky touch that persists in the length.
And since there is no smoke without fire... This Belgian interpretation of a smoked beer is already the little spark that will set the powder alight heading for 2021, since a smoked variant of the Gouden Carolus Single Malt whisky will come out of our distillery. To be continued!
